Senokir is a fire genasi jeweler living in the City of Brass where he runs a jewelry shop called the Flame Garden.[4] As an NPC, Senokir is played by Matthew Mercer.

Description[]

Appearance[]

Senokir is thin, with sallow and elongated features. His hair is wild, red, and stringy, pointing upward in the back. His eyes look inhuman and have an orange color in the iris. He wears a long white-and-gold robe.[5]

Personality[]

Senokir, according to Matthew Mercer, is "strange, curious, and off-putting, which makes him hard to read". He maintains a mysterious composure, and talks in a manner that the players often find shady and unsettling.

When Senokir was asked why he and Uten were not enslaved, he dismissed the question by simply saying that they "found their ways". This may suggest that he is closed and secretive. He's not without a sense of humor, albeit odd; when Vax'ildan started making fun of his sister while invisible, the rogue's antics and quips drew genuine chuckles from him.

Senokir knows his way around the City of Brass very well. He seemed to enjoy playing the tour guide for Vox Machina while on their way to the Zenith Forge to meet the fire giant, Whaska.

Senokir is very devoted to his deceased wife Zaafin, asking Vox Machina to bring her ashes to the Abundant Terrace in Vasselheim (where she was born) and bury them there.

Biography[]

Background[]

Senokir worked with Uten in the Flame Garden since 801 PD.[6]

"Path of Brass" (1x74)[]

Vox Machina meets Senokir and his companion Uten in the streets of the City of Brass, where they help the party escape from two efreeti who are trying to capture them. Eager to be owed more favors from the group, he agrees to help them track down the Plate of the Dawnmartyr somewhere in the city.

"Where the Cards Fall" (1x75)[]

Senokir leads Vox Machina around the City of Brass, first to the Zenith Forge to meet with Whaska and then to the home of Juuraiel. Finally he takes them back to his jewelry shop, where they stay the night (within Scanlan's Magnificent Mansion). Several times he mentions the favor the party will owe him.

"Brawl in the Arches" (1x76)[]

After completing their business in the City of Brass, Vox Machina return to Senokir to tell him that they will be back to perform his favor. He says that if they are leaving then it would be a good time to ask for the favor now. He gives them a box containing the ashes of his late wife Zaafin. He asks them to take it to Vasselheim and bury it beneath the Birthheart in the Abundant Terrace, where she once lived. The party promises to do so and they bid him goodbye.

"One Year Later..." (1x95)[]

Senokir is commissioned by Percy to make a set of hero's medalions for Vox Machina, containing scales from each of the five dragons of the Chroma Conclave. Percy also commissions him to make one for Tary with no scales, but with empty spaces for future accomplishments.

Relationships[]

  • Husband of Zaafin
  • Business partner of Uten
  • Associate of Vox Machina

Abilities[]

Senokir has the ability to see invisibility, as evidenced by his reactions to Vax'ildan's behavior while the Ring of Invisibility was in use.[7] In addition, he seems to have impeccable memory for time, as he was able to remember the exact amount of time (to the minute) that had passed since his wife died,[8] although with the difficulty Vox Machina had reading him, it is possible that he could have made up a specific number.

Unless otherwise noted, the following abilities are assumed from the standard Dungeons & Dragons materials:

Fire Genasi Abilities[]

  • Darkvision
  • Fire Resistance
  • Reach to the Blaze

Notable Items[]

Appearances and mentions[]

Quotations[]

  • Keyleth: I Druidcraft a band (of flowers) around his arm.
Senokir: Thank you. That'll die soon.[9]
  • Grog: I do hate to pry, but how long ago did your wife pass?
Senokir: This would have been four years, two months, six days, twenty-seven minutes...[10]
