Vax'ildan met Harold when he traveled to the butcher's home in search of Kynan. He knocked on the door, and when Harold answered, Vax pretended he was there to pay back a gambling debt to Kynan. Harold opened the door slightly and Vax could smell alcohol coming from him. The butcher said that he and Kynan got into an argument and the boy ran off. He didn't know where Kynan was and seemed generally unconcerned about his son's whereabouts. Vax left fifty gold with Harold and instructed him to give it to Kynan when he returned. Harold said he would, but Vax got the feeling the man was more interested in keeping the money for himself. Vax left and Harold locked the door behind him.[3]
