Biography Edit

Background Edit

Simon lived with his mother, who ran the Softsky Bakery in Westruun.[3]

When Simon went missing for a few weeks, Elowen asked Vox Machina to help find him.[3] Vox Machina found and defeated the Dread Emperor, who had kidnapped children from across Tal'Dorei and was holding them within his desolate, extraplanar home.[1] The party returned most of the missing children to their families, reuniting Simon and Elowen.[3]

Vax'ildan named his serpent belt "Simon" in honor of the young boy he helped rescue.[4]

"Into the Frostweald" (4x10) Edit

In "Into the Frostweald" (4x10), Vox Machina travelled from Westruun to the Frostweald in mist form, when they noticed a refugee camp from overhead.  When they landed and investigated, Vax'ildan and Vex'ahlia noticed Elowen and her son, Simon, instantly recognizing them from their quest to rescue the children from the Dread Emperor.[5]

When the Chroma Conclave attacked Westruun, which was subsequently overrun by Grog's former herd, Elowen and her son became refugees.  They sought aid in Kymal, but that small town could not accommodate all the refugees, leaving Elowen, Simon, and others to fend for themselves.[5]

When Vax encountered Simon again, he showed the boy his serpent belt and explained that he named the serpent after young Simon.  Simon Brist was both excited to see the wondrous serpent Simon and terrified at the perceived threat of a snake attack, freezing when it was draped around his neck.[4]
